No matter how old, no matter how wise, no matter how sad, no matter what size,
bubbles will bring smiles.
Every time! :)
Make Your Own Giant Bubbles
You will need
- 6 cups distilled water (tap water doesn’t work as well, but it will do the job in a pinch)
- 1/2 cup blue Dawn dish soap
- 1/3 cup corn starch
- 2 tbsp glycerine
Add the cornstarch to the water, stirring until completely dissolved.
Gently (gently gently!) stir in the remaining ingredients. Avoid whipping or vigorous stirring to avoid froth.
Allow the mixture to sit for at least an hour, but 24 hours is best.
Stir very gently if you see ingredients settle to the bottom of your container before you start. Once you start, your ingredients will settle, but that’s okay.
Overcast and humid conditions are best. Sunlight and heat will wick moisture from your bubbles.
To make your own giant bubble wand, string a length of cotton yarn through two drinking straws, and tie the ends. Soak the yarn-straw wand in the solution for five to ten minutes, pull the string out by the straws, spread your arms, and fill the space with air.
Watch your bubbles fly!
