The Beauty of Fall

SayangTK 11b - leaf trionari Cards cannot take credit for the beautiful leaf artwork on this card.  When it was time to create the image, we went outside.

Every fall, God, with His divine artistic ability, paints the Pacific Northwest in beautiful color.  Orange and red and yellow burst forth, trees shrug and slouch, and the whole world curls up for winter.

To create this artwork, we took a walk, the kids and I, and collected every color we could find from every type of tree we saw.  A flatbed scanner moved the leaves into digital form, and we created cards around them.

Very often, the simplest things are taken for granted.  In this day and age, much of our time is spent with our nose pressed to a phone.  We read about the lives of others, compare our hum-drum existence others’ highlight reels, even watching our own lives through the 3” x 5” screen as we record an experience instead of living it.

This fall, we challenge you to put the phone down, grab a tiny hand, and walk outside.  Look around you at the amazing change God brings to the world every fall, and take a moment to be mindful.

If God does that for just a tree, imagine what He wants to do for you.

“He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.”  ~Daniel 2:21
